Lighting Control
The right control system replaces banks of switches with a small number of beautifully engraved keypads — and replaces the homeowner’s mental overhead with a house that does the right thing on its own. Centralized control is not the goal in itself; the goal is a domestic experience that feels inevitable rather than complicated.
Systems We Specify
- Lutron RadioRA 3 — for residences where wireless control is the right architecture
- Lutron HomeWorks — for large estates with wired processors and dimming panels
- Crestron Home — for projects already standardized on Crestron infrastructure
We are authorized designers for both manufacturers. The choice between them is a project-by-project decision, not a sales preference.
What the Control System Designs
- Scenes — typically morning, day, evening, late — calibrated in the actual finished room
- Schedules — daily and astronomical-clock-based behavior
- Keypad stations — placement, engraving, color, finish, button count
- Processors and dimming panels — sized to the load schedule, located thoughtfully
- Integration — motorized shades, drapery, and outdoor lighting under the same scenes
- App access — for the times it is genuinely useful, restrained otherwise
Keypads, Not Switches
A luxury residence with twenty rooms and three hundred fixtures cannot reasonably be operated by switches on the wall. A small number of engraved keypads, each running a handful of scenes, replaces the switch banks and lets a room or floor be set with a single button. The keypads themselves are detailed with the same care as door hardware — engraving styles, plate finishes, and colors coordinated with the interior palette.
Programming and Commissioning
Programming is done in-house by our central team. Scene calibration is done on site, with you and the client, in the finished house. The lighting is tuned to the actual finishes — not to a drawing or a guess.
Service Posture
A well-designed control system should not require frequent service. When it does, our small local team supports the project for commissioning and the occasional adjustment. We are reachable.
